New to yoga? 

Welcome! Yay! :) We highly recommend that new students and new-to flow students take our FUNdamental Flow, Lullaby or Chill Flow classes to start. We also occasionally offer workshops geared towards new-to-yoga students.

Our FUNdamental Flow class is accessible to all levels. This class provides nuanced instruction about posture (asana), breath (pranayama), and will offer modifications so you can flow at the level that is right for you.  Chill and Lullaby Flow move at a luxurious pace helping you explore postures right from your first breath.

A yoga practice can bring positive changes to your day even after ONE class.  Some benefits you’ll notice right away include: a calmer mind, body awareness, and an awakened connection with LIFE.  Whether you are looking to increase your flexibility, condition your body, quell your mind, or (re)claim your INSPIRATION– yoga can assist you! Continued practice furthers these benefits and facilitates healthy connections on many levels — within ourselves, our relationships, our world at large.

Truth: Yoga feels good.  AND, if you already feel good– amazing!  A yoga practice can help you stay well both physically and mentally.  Yoga practices will change your mind and EMPOWER you to meet your potential.

You can start today.  Students are welcome to take ANY class, but please let your teacher know you are new to yoga. We are here to support YOU!

Heated studio? 

Yes, our studio is heated, but it's NOT hot yoga. We warm the room to about 80-85 degrees fahrenheit. The heat  opens your body to the poses without melting you into a puddle by the end of class. We do recommend that you bring a water bottle (we have a water cooler) to rehydrate during or after class. Mat towels can be helpful too if your mat tends to get slippery throughout the practice. 


New student discount? 

Yes, we have two options: New Student Membership (69% off your first month) or a New Student Intro of 3 classes for $25.  

Our monthly membership lets you test out your first month at just $39 (cancel anytime; we require 7 day notice). Or you can try 3 classes for $25 (15 day expiration).

These offers are valid for new students only and must be purchased on the first visit. Sign up for the new student pass in person or online. 


Mat & Towel Rental? 

Yes, we rent yoga mats for $2.00. We also rent full-size yoga mat towels for $2.00. We offer one free hand towel for your use during practice. 


Pre-registration?

Many of our evening and weekend classes do fill up! We *highly* recommend signing up online for a class in advance HERE. Please arrive at least 10 minutes before your class to ensure a spot in the class (or workshop).If you have not arrived 5 minutes before class time, TGY reserves the right to offer your spot to a friend on the waitlist.


Cancelation Policy? 

Classes reserved using our Online Scheduler may be canceled up until 24 hours before class time. No-shows or cancellations within 24 hours of class will be deducted from your class card. Members always cancel for free! All workshops and special events require a full 48 hours for a full refund. 

We lock the doors 5 minutes after starting ALL classes. There is no entry after doors are locked.


Community Involvement? 

We offer classes during the week for $10 or less. Also, we have opportunities for karma yogi employment and community trades. For more information about work-trade opportunities please email: helen@thegrinningyogi.com

For our friends who can’t join us on the mat, proceeds from our karma community classes are donated to local charitable organizations every month.
