Catherine Weiss
Catherine (she/they) started yoga as part of theatre classes as a child, and it has been in her life ever since. She got certified to teach in 2017 and immediately went and got a master’s degree in Yoga Studies. After graduating in 2019, Catherine moved home to Seattle and began teaching here.
In addition to an MA, Catherine holds certificates in anti-oppression and social justice, mental health and trauma, and is a 500 Hr E-RYT with Yoga Alliance. Catherine studying to become yoga therapist through Ajna Yoga College in Victoria BC.
Catherine’s experience ranges from teaching in university, yoga studios and in virtual spaces, to teacher training for Anatomy and Sanskrit. Catherine’s most extensive is in mental health treatment. Catherine is passionate about social justice, especially LGBTQIA+ rights and dismantling white supremacy.
Catherine’s classes are both gentle and playful. She blends her performance training with her experience teaching trauma informed yoga to offer classes that empower folks to encounter themselves with curiosity, openness and permission. Catherine loves rainbows, cats and science fiction. When you come to her class count on hearing a few dumb jokes, doing some intuitive movement and experiencing many moments of comfort.
