Yaz Ihlamur
Yaz’s academic education was in political science with a focus on philosophy and anthropology. She did her initial yoga teacher training in Bali with the Sacred Fig, followed by specialized trainings in yoga philosophy, meditation, nervous system regulation, and Organic Intelligence. She’s also working towards her Katonah Yoga certification, which heavily inspires her teaching and life. She weaves these diverse streams of knowledge seamlessly into her classes.
Yaz teaches yoga as a way of organizing your mind, body, and breath so that you can function optimally and experience life fully. She believes an advanced practice embraces all aspects of yoga and incorporates breathwork, imagination, and meditation into her classes as much as movement. She employs practical tools, techniques, and knowledge to help students embody the philosophy of yoga on and off the mat. Her classes are designed as a container for self-reflection to find freedom in your mind, body, and breath.
