Shannon Eyre

Whats your super power?
Bestowing positive reinforcement to the world. I would love to do that through teleportation. Breathing under water would be a game changer too.

How do you express gratitude?
I express gratitude on a daily basis by reminding myself to not take the little things in life for granted, and focusing on what I DO have opposed to what I do not have. Gratitude is a necessary practice for attaining contentment and happiness.

Why do you share yoga?
I share Yoga because Yoga changed my life, and continues to do so in a profound way. I want others to experience that too.

Whats your favorite pose and why?
Supta Badha Konasana. (Supine bound angle). We live in such a fast paced society. Its so important to slow down, to be okay with stillness and to reconnect with ourselves. This posture is grounding, calming, creates space. Reminds me its okay to be vulnerable and to let go as much as possible.

When was the last time you laughed out loud?
Last night while I was telling jokes with some friends. My cheeks hurt and I was crying from laughing so hard.

What always makes you smile?
Puppy butt wiggles. Hugs.

What does flow mean to you?
Authentically moving from the heart. Creativity based on instinct. Surrendering to and embracing change, then going with it.

What can our TGY community expect from your class?
My classes provide a space in which you will always feel safe and accepted. We will address the athletic side of yoga without making it competitive, and the spiritual side of yoga without making it pretentious. You can expect an aloha spirit.  You will secretly get your butt kicked but will not realize it until the next day.

I have received certifications through YOGAFIT andMAUI YOGA SHALA inAstanga and Iyengar methods. I have been teaching yoga around Seattle studios and on paddle boards and sailboats for the last 5 years. In addition to teaching in Seattle, I have lead retreats in Washington and Costa Rica. I love to teach and practice in nature.
