JENNIFER REED
What is my superpower or what do I wish it would be?
I always wanted my superpower to be time travel. I'd love to be a witness to so many eras in history, namely dinosaurs (as long as I had big, sharp teeth), the medieval age (gah, the costumes), New York City in the 20's (so glamorous) and California in the 60's (peace and love, yo!)
How do I express gratitude?
I try to live through my actions, to show appreciation to others, to pay kindness forward, and work to remind myself how damn lucky I am every day!
Why do you share yoga?
I share yoga because when I started practicing, yoga was the only thing that gave me a brief respite from the chaos of my brain. I learn a little more about myself each time I get on the mat. I share because the relationship we have with ourselves is the most important relationship we will ever have. And it's important to take the time.
What's your favorite pose?
My favorite pose changes all the time, but currently I LOVE triangle. Feeling my feet rooting into the mat, I can feel the stretch all the way up my side body and I feel grounded and stable. And handstand too, just cause I love being upside down.
When was the last time you laughed out loud?
Watching South Park last night.
What always makes you smile?
Road trips!!!
What can our TGY friends expect from your class?
My classes are challenging, fun and I like to infuse humor into my classes to encourage students to not take themselves too seriously. I enjoy creative and dynamic sequences that foster confidence and growth in students.
I have lived in Montreal, Canada for the last ten years and in 2011 did my 500-hour Teacher Training with Moksha Yoga. Since then she has also completed her Moksha Flow Teacher Training and Level 1 Power Vinyasa training with Baron Baptiste.
Oh yeah, I also write a blog called Memoirs of a Downward Facing Dog.
