BREE DILLON

What's your superpower? What do you want it to be?

It would be to love without limit. I feel like most probs would be non-issues if love was a guiding principle in making a decision. I'm a pretty practical person and spend a lot of time pondering real ways to solve problems. Call me cheesy but love is a powerful solution!

How do you express gratitude?

Hugs, high fives and thank you cards handwritten, stamped and sent via snail mail.

Why do you share yoga?

Embarking to know ourselves is one of the most courageous things we can do.  Moving on our mats is a powerful tool to explore ourselves, to take a brave walk inward to find out what's underneath all that muscle and bone.

What's your favorite pose? Why?

Bridge – it’s a trigger for me.  It's not a showy pose but it's a potent one and it always reveals what my yoga practice is made of. One day it might be a wandering mind and breathlessness, another day laser sharp focus and a feeling of possibility but it's always a butt burner!  Some times I do a whole bridge practice at home just to make friends with my challenge.

When was the last time you laughed out loud?

Just now.  I laugh.  A lot.  It's therapeutic plus the world is a funny place so it often feels like an appropriate response.  And if it's not, that's funny too :)

What always makes you smile?

A "hello" from a complete strange, sunshine, campfires and wools blankets, kitchen dance parties, seeds sprouting in my garden, when someone ays something that resonates so deeply it's like they stole it right from your head, adventures!

What does flow mean to you?

It means connecting breath to movement, movement to movement, body to mind and mind to potential.  Flow means linking together things that can often exist very separately or that we have a tendency to compartmentalize. Being in the "flow" is being in a zone without boundaries.

What can our TGY friends expect from your class?

An invitation to get out of your head to take an adventure on your mat that includes a combo of movement - might be strong, might be gentle - guided by my love of doing right by the body and discovering it's potential. Also, levity and good tunes.

I am 200hr RYT certified and teach with a focus on the body's design, how it can be supported and enhanced through an anatomy-smart practice in class, workshops, retreats and trainings, both locally and abroad.
